What to Expect
Under the effects of sedation, you are considered impaired for 24 hours and will need a ride home. Please ensure you arrange for transportation to and from your appointment.
Depending on the specific type of sedation, you may be asked to take additional steps as well. For example, if you’ve chosen oral sedatives, we may ask that you take them before you arrive for your appointment.
Once you arrive at our office, we will help you settle in and become comfortable, and then administer any in-office sedatives and pain medication. Once these have taken effect and you are comfortable and at ease, we will begin your procedures.
In most cases, patients report little or no discomfort during the procedure. In some cases, patients actually fall asleep during the procedure and wake up once it is complete.
If necessary, we may prescribe you additional pain medication to help manage any residual pain following your procedure.
